If you are new to Salsa dancing,
the term "shine" may not ring a bell.
A shine is when you and your dance partner are in the middle of dancing
and the leader breaks away leaving himself and his partner free to shine (aka freestyle).
A shine usually lasts just a few bars of music and then the leader
will pick up his partner and continue partner dancing.
For beginners who feel incredibly self-conscious in their dancing,
a shine section can be uncomfortable, to say the least.
This can be a dreaded moment during the dance if you don't know what to do.
But rest easy. Here is a simple shine you can incorporate during those solo moments.
